Rebecca Black --> /facepalm/

So, while cramming for a unit science test final, building a craft-stick bridge, and completing a science fair project, I somehow found the time to listen to a music video that my sister showed me.

well, i honestly thought it was a joke. You can only take "fun, fun, fun, fun" seriously so many times. And excessive autotune IS a trademark of nearly every parody. I kinda feel bad for her, no one needs that many hate comments, but let's face it -- if you're going to pay 2,000 dollars for a video you might as well make sure it's good. And she chose to put it on YouTube. I'm just a little older than her -- and no way would I sing a song with that stupid of lyrics. No offense ... and definitely not pay two thousand dollars for it.

Would it be worth it to go viral? For me, no way. It's infamy. I'd rather be invisible than receive that many hate comments for something that obnoxiously bluntly idiotic. If this seems a bit harsh, I apologize. But who does something like that?

If you haven't watched her music video yet, be my guest.

Try not to let your eyes burn out. But what did you think of Rebecca Black? Leave comments below, please.
Now, back to my projects. /sigh/

Various Roles

Ever heard of "The Somewhat True Tale of Robin Hood"? It's a great comedy -- at least for school plays. I'm one of the stage managers for the show. I didn't really know a lot of people in the drama club at first, but they all seemed to know each other from either drama class or the musical. So I definitely felt awkward at first.

But it wasn't a social club. All their actors had to do their -- well, acting -- and I spent a lot of time sitting in a comfortable chair while everyone else had to sit on the hard floor taking notes on the play. As in stage directions, cues, etc. But we all spent a lot of time laughing and everyone in the cast kept forgetting their lines. All's well now -- sort of.

If you're wondering about what drama is like, I suggest join it. It's a really awesome way to meet new people. Even if you're really antisocial, you're going to have to talk to them through your lines.

Besides being stage manager, I'm really busy and am supposed to be productively working right now. Eh. Have I ever been productively working?

First of all, science fair in just about a week and a half and I haven't even finished my project yet. Just great. I LOVE science, but I wonder why I even signed up for that project. Rawr. Because that's only the beginning.

MESA competition in less than two weeks. Our team's REALLY behind. It's kind of pathetically behind *sigh* but MESA's awesome. I have yet to finish the craft-stick bridge that we're supposed to make, another team member hasn't brought up any mention of coding, and we have no idea what we're going to do for the math part.

Debate club! Argh, debate is so addicting. You get that random rush of happiness every time you rebut against an opponent. I'm secretary and want to do another debate before Spring  Break. It's not really so demanding, but just one more thing that I have to take care of.

Meh. That's only some of the stuff I have to consider. Also, a test on Monday. A really, really, major test.

Have you guys ever been this stressed/busy? How'd you deal with it? I'd like some advice, because this combination of awesome stuff at the same time is really driving me nuts. :)

Topographic Maps

Watch, stare quizzically at the screen, and then read this post.

Okay, this class drives me nuts. Accelerated Science goes by crazy fast. We got to pick our unit project this time around, and I was one of the last ones picked so I was automatically assigned to the Hiker's Video Guide.

I have absolutely no idea what a hiker's video guide is. I still don't. Also, I didn't have a clue about filming. And I look really awkward on camera. So there were three problems with one project.

I meant to just film it as a Powerpoint and voice-over the stupid thing, but I felt bad. Because that would be called slacking. and I just don't plain slack. It's really not in my nature.

I tried filming myself, but I kept screwing up on the lines and giggling every half second. I'm not photogenic either. I figured out how to actually use a camera though, which was good.... sort of. Julie was the one moving the stuffed animals.

The result is ... this. I feel like I'm not going to do fantastic on this project compared to my regular standards since I may have not emphasized a few points as much, my grade is OK for now though so I might be fine after all. Even if I get an F on this, which shouldn't happen (at least a D+) because I got a standing ovation from my entire class for this! Apparently, stuffed animals are a HUGE hit. All the rage nowadays.

If you hate being in front of a camera, I advise stuffed animals. Apparently it worked for me.

So what about you guys? Leave a comment  telling me about your weirdest school projects, and if you want to, the grade. Because then I may feel more optimistic, or pessimistic. Whichever.

Thanks for reading!
